Youth Group
What Do We Do?
NCNW, Inc. Youth Groups are groups organized to provide adolescent women of African descent with information about life issues, prepare them for leadership roles, and help them develop a strong sense of self, resiliency, and social skills. The mission is to empower them to make positive choices for their futures and reduce the risk of life-threatening behavior.
The NCNW, Inc. Co-Op City Youth Group organizes monthly programs surrounding the core four initiatives, or areas of critical concern. They are Economic Empowerment and Entrepreneurship, Social Justice, Health Equity and S.T.E.A.M. & Education. Youth Section Mentors and Advisors ensure this is done through teaching, modeling, and facilitating leadership activities.
The NCNW, Inc. Co-Op City Youth Group was charted on July 14, 2021 and continues to change the lives of young women. The Youth Section always strives to empower the next generation of young women between the ages 9-18 years old, so they may lead, empower and advocate for women of African descent, their families and communities. Monthly meetings are held on the Second Saturday of every month, excluding July and August, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
